French itinerant daguerreotypist. Quite possibly Herménégilde "Eugène" Delanoy or Delannoy (° Herbécourt [Somme, F], 6.9.1814; + Paris [F], 20.11.1878), who was already active as an itinerant Daguerreotypist in the Loire valley of northern France in 1842. Eugène Delannoy went on to operate in Paris, Faubourg Saint-Martin, 8<49-63> then 6<64>; Rue Saint-Denis, 380<65-71>. The Getty Museum possesses a framed Daguerreotype of the 1840s bearing the backmark "C. [possibly G.] Delanoy, portrait painter".
