Antoine Julien Hypolite or Hippolyte, ° 22.7.1832. Manufacturing optician. At this address from 1875. The display by Delcarte's firm in the machine hall at the "Grand concours international des sciences et de l’industrie" in Brussels in 1888 included photographic lenses: "Everyone is aware of the superiority of the firm's lenses for spectacles, pince-nez, binoculars and telescopes, the firm's speciality. The firm also manufactures highly prized rectilinear lenses for artistic and scientific photography that can hold their own favourably with foreign production as to quality and price" (Le Soir, 7.8.1888).

Registered a trademark on 31.12.1898 for "photo-caricaturist cameras of his fabrication" consisting of the word "Photo-Caricaturiste" with a swallow between his initials A and D.
