° 26.8.1876; + 5.10.1918. Philologist, archeologist and, from 1901, deputy curator at the "Musées royaux d'art et d'histoire" in Brussels. His research focused on Greek ceramics and he added considerably to his museum's holdings. De Mot photographed in Knossos [GR] in 1901. Member of the "Société royale des Beaux-Arts" and Knight of the Order of Leopold. Volunteer at the outbreak of World War I, he served as a military aeronautical observer and was killed in action.
