Marcel Auguste Nicolas, ° 26.10.1881; + 5.8.1961. At this point, a second lieutenant assigned to the 13th line regiment. Deppe went on to become a much decorated veteran of World War I, taking part in the Belgian Military Mission to London, 1917-1919. Retiring with the rank of major in 1920, Deppe subsequently became a director of “Huileries du Congo Belge” in Léopoldville.
