Auguste François, ° 8.6.1827; + 6.4.1897. "Studio founded in 1870", but already a printer and lithographer at this address in 1864 and still a printer-lithographer in 1880. Recorded as a typographer aged 53 resident in Nivelles in July 1880. His death certificate recorded him as a printer publisher. Founder member of the ABP ("Desprez").

Patent of 15.9.1879 [A. Despret, Nivelles, no street given] for "a process for making permanent and for fixing on cloth or any other support, photographs intended for oil and water colour painting". Patent of 15.9.1885 for "a process of permanent photography". Collection of 25 views of Nivelles, advertised in 1891. For a while, c. 1896, all three studios at Nivelles, Grand Place, 77, Brussels, Rue Duquesnoy, 4 and Ypres, Rue au Beurre, 11 coexisted.
