"Photography on copper and on zinc". Main branch of the printing and publishing business founded by Henri Charles Joseph Dessain (1813 - 1891), managed by his son "Julien" Vincent Joseph Marie (° Liège, 11.12.1839; + Liège - Chênée, 4.4.1922) but still trading under his late father's initial. The publishing house and printing works run by his brother Pierre "Charles" Hubert (° Liège, 17.1.1837; + Moelingen, 17.1.1913) in Mechelen is better documented. On 5.12.1891, J.-C. Hoesch transferred to Dessain [no address] rights to his patent of 5.8.1886 for "coloured printing by photographic means". The firm was still operating here in the 1920s.
