+ 21.4.1851. Lithographer and director of the "Ecole royale de gravure" ("Société des Beaux-Arts", founded in 1838), in partnership with the publisher-printer Laurent. The "Société des Beaux-Arts" ordered a Daguerre camera from Giroux in Paris, successfully deployed in September 1839 to take a view of the Place du Grand Sablon, the square on which he lived and where his business was situated. It was immediately exhibited at the Fine Arts Exhibition in Brussels. The camera was amongst the effects auctioned on 18.5.1849 following liquidation of the "Société des Beaux-Arts". A certain Dewasme appears in the lithograph "Trinité photographique" by Félicien Rops (see that name), 1857.
