"Julius Jozef" Dubois is recorded as a photographer born in Bavay [F] aged 41 resident in Ghent in February 1884. This was on the death certificate of his partner Octavia Joanna Gabriels (° Ghent, 2.9.1834), resident at Rue Neuve des Beggards, 31 who was found drowned in the River Dijle on 12.2.1884. On the death certificate of an infant son on 28.3.1888, he was recorded as a photographer resident at the same address, together with his wife Gabriella Smets, born in Malines and aged 19. He left for Paris [F] in 1889 and returned briefly to Malines in 1896 before leaving again for Brussels - Saint-Gilles.
