Victor Richard Antoine, ° 26.7.1877; + 13.12.1952. Son-in-law of Georges van Léaucourt after marrying the latter's daughter in Courtrai on 7.6.1902 when recorded as a painter-decorator living in Brussels - Saint-Gilles. Documentary and artistic photography. Mainly known as an architectural photographer. Commissioned to record the construction of Brugmann Hospital from 30.12.1911 to 23.8.1915, on the recommendation of its architect Victor Horta. Duquenne charged 7fr. 50c. for a first print, 1 fr. 50c. for each extra print. He offered to sell a total of 402 negatives from this commission to the "Centre publique d'action publique de Bruxelles" (CPAS-OCMW) in 1947, where the set is now housed.

Also transcribed "Dughenne", "Duchenne" or "Duquesne". On advertising postcard, "Architecture, works of art, industrial arts. Autochromes. Exhibition work, halftone blocks". Listed at this address until 1923. Duquenne remained active throughout the interwar years, both as a professional documentary and as an art photographer, latterly operating as "Studio Wolfendael". The Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage (KIK-IRPA), Brussels possesses 573 negatives by Duquenne, featuring Belgian artworks and studies of architectural heritage. Purchased in 1949, when Duquenne was living in Brussels - Uccle, the earliest has been dated to 1897.
