° 24.1.1830. Younger brother of Emanuel and David (see those names). Itinerant (fairground) photographer, "pupil of Dr Loek Sax". Based in The Hague [NL], he was recorded in various Dutch towns between 1858 and 1862. One of his undated ambrotypes is kept in the Volkskunde Museum, Antwerp. Operated in Roubaix [F] from the 1870s until the early 1900s, while his son Samuel Huisman (° The Hague [NL], 3.2.1860) operated in Tourcoing [F] in the 1890s intially with the strap line "Studio Elkan of Roubaix".
