Joseph André Guillaume, ° 7.2.1828; + 17.11.1908. Publisher, stationer, bookseller and binder. Issued views in CV bearing his own rather ornate backmark. "Maison G. Engel, founded in 1852" (1883). At least three of the following generation were involved in postcard publishing. Later postcards exist featuring horses and carriages of the Belgian Court published by G. Engel - Krins in Spa. Jacques "Joseph" Engel (1856 - 1908) married Marie Jeannette "Anne" Krins (1852 - 1909), daughter of Ernest Krins (see that name) in Spa on 23.10.1884. By this time, Joseph Engel was already a publisher-stationer at this address. Some postcards, postmarked 1900-1901, bear the imprint "Veuve Engel - Lievens", this being Prudence Barbe Lievens (° Brussels, 6.1.1849), widow of Guillaume Joseph Albert Engel (1855 - 1889), himself a son of Guillaume Engel. Finally Marie "Valentine" Engel (° Spa, 14.2.1865; + Spa, 2.12.1939), stationer in Spa, published postcards in her own right, 1902-1908.
