Edouard Vincent, ° 17.3.1849; + 20.7.1918. Recorded as a labouring painter or painter-decorator living in Liège between 1874 and 1896, then as a painter domiciled in Visé at the birth of a son there on 17.3.1900 and as a painter-decorator still domiciled in Visé at the wedding of his elder son Edouard (junior) [q.v.] in Liège on 2.5.1901. Evrard appears to have had long-term secondary occupations in art and photography. He was referred to as "a painter specialising in reproducing homing pigeons" (La Meuse, 28.10.1885) and as a photographer (La Meuse, 25.4.1890). Subsequently "the talent of Mr Evrard, photographer, with his luminous projections, was applauded" (La Meuse, 12.3.1893).
Ink-stamped CV ("E. Evrard") at this address. Won first prize in a photography competition organised by "Liège-Attractions" in July 1904. Prizewinner in a photography competition held at the Liège International Exhibition in 1905. Real photo picture postcards of Visé, one postmarked April 1903, and postcards of Spa, postmarked 1905.
