° 20.5.1832. Electroplating and metal working; listed under photographic supplies in directories. Factory in Vilvoorde. Emigrated to the USA in 1890, leaving his company in the hands of his three children, notably Charles Fondu (see that name). Subsequently registered in Brussels as an industrialist aged 64 in July 1896. Knight of the Leopold Order. Fondu’s funerary chapel in Laeken cemetery, cast in bronze from his own factory, bears the inscription "Fondu Family 1868 - Models and Bronzes made by the Fondu firm in Vilvorde".
