Partner in the upmarket furniture and decoration business Franck Frères, inspired by the ideas of William Morris and John Ruskin; significant benefactor of the arts. During a meeting of the "Académie des Sciences" on 17.6.1907, he claimed to have successfully used autochromes for photomicrography. Director of the firm "La Photographie des Couleurs S.A.", set up in 1908 to commercialise trichromatic photography, when he was described as an industrialist.
