Léon Marie, ° 19.4.1866; + November 1954. "Frémault, A." in the directory. Recorded as a mechanic domiciled in Paris [F] at the occasion of his marriage there on 24.2.1894. Returned to Brussels about the turn of the century, after having lived in Paris for about ten years, where he had reportedly served as an operator in a few different studios. Despite his activities in Belgium, he was still recorded as a mechanic resident in Paris in March 1904, when witnessing a wedding in Brussels - Anderlecht.

Misspelled "Frémont" in the 1907 directory. "Supplier to the army and to the company Les Tramways bruxellois". Frémault was appointed "Photographer to the Royal Household" in 1919, at which point he was operating at Chaussée de Wavre, 786-788 (La Nation Belge, 16.5.1919). Active at Chaussée de Wavre, 788 until at least 1930. On 21.7.1935, the King ceremoniously handed Frémault a medal of honour on his appointment as the "doyen" of photographers in Belgium.
