Activity

Ferdinand Joseph, ° 1.12.1844; + 1.12.1891. His brother Egide Fussen (see that name) was also recorded at this address.
1880 * - 1885 Bruxelles, Boulevard du Nord, 108
Successor: Nestler Wilhelm #
Cousin of Egide François Billotte (see that name). He arrived from Paris [F] on 19.6.1878. Registered as a photographer at Place de Brouckère, 34 (probably his private address) until 30.6.1880. "E. Fussen & Cie. No electric light. Ex leading operator of the Dupont firm" (La Meuse, 26.8.1880 and following days). The same advertisement appeared in another newspaper with "Fussen" misspelled as "Jussey" (L'Ami de l'Ordre, 23.8.1880). The initial "E." may well refer to his brother Egide. A first-class collotypist, Ferdinand Fussen supplied the photographs for the "Album commémoratif de l'Exposition nationale, 1830-1880". Brussels, 1881, containing 11 exterior and interior views of the exhibition.
1885 Bruxelles, Rue de Malines, 36
Operator or partner of Egide François Billotte. We have not found any photographs signed by Fussen at this address, where he lived from 30.6.1880 until 18.12.1886. He was thereafter registered as an office clerk, then left for Antwerp on 11.9.1891. Recorded as a tradesman resident in Brussels, Rue de L'Ecuyer, 30 on his death certificate, which was witnessed and signed by Billotte.
