° 8.5.1831; + 12.1.1882. Husband of Marie Elisabeth Josephine Bonn (° Aix-la-Chapelle [Prussia], 9.8.1825). Recorded as a photographer domiciled in Liège, Rue du Pont-d'Ile, 26 in July 1867 and at no. 24 of the same street in January 1869. Also see entry for his brother Ferdinand Fussen. Subsequently recorded as a photographer at this address in September 1870. His death certificate gives his first name as Gilles. At that point in time Fussen was recorded as a photographer domiciled at rue de la Régence, 37. The certificate was witnessed by Philippe Dallemagne (see relevant entry).
His son Hugo Fussen (° Aix-la-Chapelle [Prussia], 25.11.1862; + Brussels, February 1912) followed in his father's footsteps and was recorded as a (journeyman) photographer resident in Liège, Rue Léopold, 26 in early 1884, Antwerp, Rue de l'Équerre, 25 in July 1884, Antwerp, Longue Rue Neuve, 135 in June 1887, Brussels, Rue des Alexiens from 28.12.1887 to 21.3.1888 and Brussels, Rue de Villers, 25 at the occasion of his wedding in Brussels on 15.10.1888. Subsequently recorded as a waiter in Antwerp in 1896 and 1907. When he died in February 1912, he was again recorded as a photographer in Brussels, Rue de la Senne, 141. According to Hugo's foreigner's file, he had first arrived in Belgium in 1866.
