° 3.10.1871; + 20.8.1948. Son of Julien. Artist and painter of figures, animals, historical and military scenes, and landscapes (objective realism). "Quasi photographic realism" (ZEEBROEK-HOLLEMANS, Jany, Dictionnaire des Peintres belges, La Renaissance du Livre, t. 1, 1994, p. 463). According to the population registry, Edwin Ganz remained at his parents' house in Brussels, Rue Royale, 65 from 2.7.1891 until he moved to Brussels - Schaerbeek on 15.2.1901. He also seems to have occupied a studio in Avenue Rogier, 42, at an unspecified date. Unlike his father and grandfather, his engagement with photography would appear to be relatively brief; advertisements at this address for "Photographie Ganz" appeared on 22.4.1896 and 6.1.1897.
