Voignier records a certain Gauthier operating in Lille [F], Faubourg de Roubaix, 56 in about 1869. Lived in Rue des Brasseurs, 39 then in Rue de Fer, 41 from 4.8.1883. The studio in the Rue de Fer was perhaps already operating about 1869. Founder member of the ABP. Experiments in photolithography in 1874. Gave slide shows at the "Cercle artistique et littéraire de Namur": microscopy, 1874, and views of Pompei, 1879. "Photolithography - carbon printing" on Gauthier (no forename) CV back. No first name in the directories of 1882-1883. In 1885, P. Gauthier, Rue de Fer, with no house number.
