° 17.1.1872; + 23.10.1957. Sometimes spelled "Gecèle". Henri was the son of Louis Gecele, nephew and employee of Antoine Avanzo and Anna Gecele, both born in Pieve Tesino [IT], and who arrived in Bruges about 1825 with their son François Avanzo. In the shop in the Rue Breydel they sold engravings and optical instruments. Louis Gecele took over the shop and was in turn succeeded by his son Henri. Active member of the "Cercle photographique de Bruges" and commissioner in 1903-1908, Gecele took part in excursions and photographed in particular festivities and processions.
