Jean Victor Albert Bouqué or Bouquet, ° 14.12.1890; + 29.4.1953. His family name changed to Geerlandt [sic] on the marriage of his mother in June 1895. Nephew of Henri and Jean Geirland (see those names). Advertising here as a photographer in March 1914. The earliest listings of a Geirland(t) at this address are in the 1915 directory, when both H. Geirland and O. Geirland(t) are recorded here as photographers. However, the only photographs we have found at this address are imprinted with Victor's name. He remained active at no. 3 throughout the interwar period, when he sometimes adopted the spelling "Geirlandt". The Museum of Photography in Antwerp has extensive holdings of his glass plates (mainly studio portraits) while another 60 000 to 70 000 are housed in the Ghent City Archives, having been transferred there from the Communal Museum of Melle.
