Adolphe Eduard Ludwig, ° 31.3.1882. Also spelled "Gerhäuser". Previously active in Antwerp since his arrival from Ludwigsburg [D] on 27.6.1904, briefly in partnership with Adolf Nitsche (see that name) and otherwise probably as an operator in an unidentified studio. Recorded as a photographer living in Antwerp - Borgerhout at the occasion of his wedding in Antwerp on 2.6.1906. Arrived here in July 1907 and was recorded as a photographer domiciled at this address at the birth of a daughter in Liège in August 1907. Advertising here in October 1907 when looking to employ a printer-photographer. "28 Victoria - Miniature Portraits, 4 different poses, 1,50 francs. 21 Portraits for season tickets, 1,50 francs". He left for Brussels on 15.7.1908.

Treasurer of the "Union des Photographes Professionnels de Belgique", 1913. Living in Cologne [D] in 1935. A studio continued to operate at this address in the interwar period, initially under the trade name Photo Belge S.A. from 1921 to 1930.
