° 31.3.1817; + 4.12.1874. Lived in Paris, 62 Rue de Montmartre until his marriage on 30.1.1841. Still living abroad in 1856. As a bookseller in Rue des Eperonniers, 6 in 1839, he sold the first photography manual "Description pratique et historique du Daguerréotype" by Daguerre (advertised in "L'Observateur", 29.9.1839). Publisher of prints at this address. According to "Le Précurseur" of 21.9.1856, Géruzet exhibited photographs by Bisson, for whom he was acting as agent. Also agent for Richebourg.
Brussels studio opened before 30.10.1859, date of his oldest known CV. An undated printed circular, announcing the opening, depicts the studio façade and states "portraits, known as cartes de visite, for 12, 16 and 20 francs a dozen". Quickly became one of the leading studios in Brussels. Patent of 15.11.1862 for "an identity card". In 1863 photographed the members of the Catholic Congress of Malines. Photographed Nadar’s balloon the "Géant" during its ascension in the Brussels Botanical Gardens in 1864. Studio portrait dated 1868 on "Jules Géruzet" card stock although "Géruzet Frères" had appeared as early as September 1866.

Ministerial permission to erect a tent measuring eight square metres for exhibiting pictures and taking photographs, for a fee of 100 francs, dated 1.5.1858 and 29.5.1858. The "Pavillon Géruzet" was illustrated in "Souvenir d'Ostende", an album of lithographs published by Géruzet in 1858. The photography studio operated in association with Delehaye & Sluyts (see those names).

This studio, unlike others on the upper floors of houses, is situated on the ground floor at the end of a garden in one of the busiest places in town. The facility, especially for old people, not to have a long walk upstairs, to have your photograph taken on a horse or even in a carriage, as the fancy takes you ..." (L'Indépendence Belge, 13.7.1861).
