Alfred Théodore François, ° 4.12.1850; + 4.5.1914. Surgeon and industrialist. His knowledge of geology brought him the directorship of coal-mines in Mons and Dahlbusch - Gelsenkirchen [D]. Collaborator in the "Société du Jardin Pittoresque" with a series of photographs on that subject. Provided the photographic illustrations for a book by Ernest Vanden Broeck on Belgian caves. President of the Brussels section of the ABP.
