Professor of chemistry at the "Ecole de Guerre" [War College] on 5.7.1880. Captain-commander from 29.9.1883. Resigned his commission on 28.5.1889. Author of "La photographie appliquée aux arts militaires et aux arts civils. Leçons théoriques et pratiques", Namur, A. Wesmael-Charlier, 1890 (2nd ed., 1901). Gody also wrote a standard work on explosives, published under the same imprint, which ran to three editions, the final one in 1907. Remained professor of applied chemistry at the "Ecole militaire" until at least 1911. Honorary member of the "Cercle Photographique d’Ixelles".
