Department store. The director was Franz Tobia (° Antwerp - Berchem, 20.8.1851; + Zwijndrecht, 18.1.1906). Initially listed as a branch of the Bazar Saint-Nicolas, which was already managed by Tobia at Carnotstraat, 16. While Tobia was listed as the director, E. Veeck & Cie were the proprietors of the establishment. Emile Veeck (see that name) moved here on 22.3.1899 and was recorded as the "director of a bazaar" in both the population register and his foreigner's file. Already selling albums for photography in December 1899 (Gazet van Antwerpen, 18.12.1899). Festive season offerings included a stereoscope-polyscope with 25 views and box cameras, "an excellent present for young people" (Het Handelsblad, 28.11.1900).
