Adolphe Jean, ° 26.2.1849; + 27.6.1925. Recorded as a painter and photographer living in Brussels - Ixelles at his first wedding in June 1871 and as an artist-painter still living in Brussels - Ixelles at his second wedding in September 1902. A large part of his studio was destroyed by a fire in January 1898 (Le Peuple, 26.1.1898). Father of Georges Hamesse (see that name) and of art-nouveau architect Paul Hamesse (1877 - 1956).
