Georges Victor Adolphe, ° 13.3.1874. Son of Adolphe Hamesse (see that name) and elder brother of art-nouveau architect Paul Hamesse (1877 - 1956). Studied art at the "Académie royale des beaux-arts de Bruxelles" and the "Ecole des Arts industriels et décoratifs d'Ixelles" where he was awarded first prize in advanced drawing in 1897-1898. Recorded as a painter living in Brussels in September 1899 and as a photographer still living in Brussels in March 1903. Georges went on to collaborate with his brother in their architectural practice of "Paul Hamesse & Frères", founded in 1910.
