Nicolas Auguste Léon Hansotte (° Liège, 3.2.1839; + Kortrijk, 16.9.1889) and Isabella Sarah Caroline Crespin (° London [GB], 7.7.1832). At the birth of their daughter (see entry for Laure Clerbois) in Brussels - Ixelles in August 1859, he was described as a metal engraver and she as an artist-painter.
1874 - 1877 Bruxelles, Marché aux Herbes, 102
Photographic enamels, indicating a collaboration between Hansotte as a photographer and his wife as the colourist-retoucher. They were resident in Rue Montagne de la Cour, 82 in 1876, when Hansotte was recorded as a photographer, having previously been an engraver there. The couple left for Roubaix [Nord, F] on 27.9.1877.
1878 - 1881 Roubaix [Nord, F], Rue du Pays, 4
"Successor to Blin". On the occasion of their daughter Anne Laure's wedding in Brussels in November 1880, Hansotte was described as a photographer and, together with his wife, domiciled in Brussels while living in Roubaix [Nord, F]. They returned to Brussels - Saint-Josse on 11.11.1882 and by November 1883, Elkan Huisman (see that name) advertised that he owned Hansotte's negatives (Journal de Roubaix, 29.11.1883). Hansotte was recorded as a "light painter" resident in Courtrai on his death certificate in 1889.
