He arrived in Belgium in 1892 and was already recorded as a journeyman photographer in Antwerp in October 1892, when coming from Verviers, Rue de la Tranchée, 68. His stay in Antwerp seems to have been intermittent at first, since he was also recorded in Brussels - Saint-Josse, Rue Liné, 10 in 1893 and in Nancy [Meurthe-et-Moselle, F], Rue Saint-Jean, 45 in 1895. He was an operator with François Piron (see that name) at Rue Léopold, 55 as early as 1892 and at least until 1896. Recorded as a photographer resident in Antwerp at the occasion of his wedding in Antwerp on 18.5.1896, when François Piron acted as a witness. According to the Antwerp population register, he arrived at this address on 28.8.1899 and moved to Rue de la Liberté, 26 on 6.8.1900. Left for Brussels - Laeken in May 1901.
