Auguste Heleven was recorded as a photographer aged 29 domiciled in Liège on the occasion of the wedding of his sister (and daughter of the late Jean Michel Heleven) in Liège on 8.5.1886 and again as a photographer aged 33 on 6.3.1890. No other trace has yet been found in the archives to define his identity. At this address the operator was Auguste's brother Quintin Heleven (° Zonhoven, 31.10.1855; + Liège, 7.11.1891). He was already recorded as a photographer aged 29 domiciled in Liège on his father Jean Michel's death certificate of 10.9.1884 and again as a photographer domiciled in Liège, Rue des Récollets on the occasion of his wedding in Liège on 25.8.1887. He was recorded living in Place Verte, 17 in January 1890 and died at no. 21. The premises at no. 17 were vacant and the photography studio advertised to let in August 1888 and the opening of Heleven's new studio (no street number) announced in March 1889 (La Meuse, 4.8.1888 & 4.3.1889). This indicates the start date and possible end date of Heleven's professional activity at no. 17..
Following Quintin's death, his widow Ludovie Graffart (° Huy, 8.2.1865) "informs her numerous customers that she is continuing business as during her husband's lifetime. The work will still be thorough and prices very reasonable" (La Meuse, 19.11.1891).
