Jean Louis, ° 27.6.1862; + 14.3.1911. Formerly railway stoker. Recorded as a photographer aged 29 domiciled in Liège on his brother Auguste's death certificate of 9.11.1891. Arrived from Liège with his mother. Was probably Ruys - Morel's operator here before succeeding him. Some CVs bear only his first name "Louis". Left for Liège in May 1901.

"Photographie Heleven" advertised at this address (La Meuse, 25.8.1911). CV with a strip for Rue des Guillemins, 117 glued over Rue du Saint-Esprit, 60. Possibly Heleven's widow Gertrude Elisabeth Lebens (° Born [Limburg, NL], 17.9.1861), resident at this address when she remarried in October 1913 and was recorded as not having a profession. Studio still listed in the 1913 directory. In April 1913, the premises were advertised to let on expiry of lease and described as a "photography studio [with] electricity" (La Meuse, 15.4.1913).
