Aloïs Alexandre Emile Louis, ° 14.7.1827; + 4.10.1882. Bookseller, a branch of the "Maison H. Goemaere" in Brussels, in acknowlegement of which the title was changed to "Librairie internationale Catholique" on 1.7.1865. A photographic studio supplied clients with CVs as a free gift with purchases of books amounting to 20 francs or more. In 1867 there was no further mention of a bookshop. Henry advertised himself as professor of chemistry and photography by royal patent. He was still operating as a bookseller on this street in 1872. By 1876 he was active as a bookseller at Grande Rue, 1, where he seems to have operated until his death. A document dated January 1883 still bears his stamp, but is signed by "V. Henry", which might imply that his widow or another family member continued the business. We have found no trace of photographic activity by L. Henry at the latter address.
