Léon Achille Émile, ° 3.9.1873. Student in 1895. Doctor of medicine and pharmacology. Subsequently lecturer and then, from 1911, professor at the "Université libre de Bruxelles", and finally dean of the faculty of medicine, 1931-1933. Took the microphotographs reproduced in collotype in the study by his father Achille Herlant, "Micrographie des poudres officinales", Brussels, 1896. Autochromist. Not a member of the ABP from 1901 to end of 1907.
