Studio taken over on 16.12.1882, when both women arrived at this address coming from Brussels - Schaerbeek. Jeanne Hermans was recorded as a retoucher-photographer in the 1880-1890 Bruges population register and Gérard as a servant. Brayer remained listed in some directories until 1891. "The enlargements that Mr Breyer [sic] used to supply were finished in the retouching studios of Mmes Hermans & Prignot in Brussels" (Journal de Bruges, 5.1.1883). Patent dated 15.5.1885 for "a photographic system known as: photo-oleo-miniature". On CV, c. 1890, "Mmes Hermans & Prignot". Portraits, town views, copies of paintings and works of art. Jeanne's father Joseph Hermans (° Ghent, 9.3.1817; + 12.10.1891), who lived with her at this address and was recorded as a cabinet maker in the population register, was also briefly recorded as a photographer at the occasion of another one of his daughter's weddings in Bruges on 22.3.1884. Subsequently, in 1885 and 1891, Joseph Hermans was recorded as having no profession. Symbolism in certain portraits (Hermans was an active member of the theosophic movement). In the 1890-1900 Bruges population register, Caroline Gérard was recorded as “proprietor” at this address, while her son Henri Prignot (° Brussels - Schaerbeek, 11.9.1872) and Jeanne Hermans were recorded as “portrait makers”. Gérard and her son left this address on 14.12.1891.
