Hermans refuted these claims and said she would further expand her studio at Place Malleberg (Journal de Bruges, 24.7.1892). Symbolism in certain portraits (Hermans was an active member of the theosophic movement). Victor Van Sassenbroeck (see that name) was her assistant here at some point and so was Christiaan Van den Reysen (see that name).
