° 18.2.1880; + 18.8.1967. Committee member of the "Cercle photographique d'Ixelles" ("Herslever"). Portrait of Léopold II. Jacques Hersleven founded a photographic advertising agency after the First World War. In 1952 he retired to Grimbergen and approached the Royal Institute of Cultural Heritage (KIK-IRPA) in Brussels to purchase his negatives, which it then did. The archives are composed of 12 585 negatives dating from 1902 to 1951; photojournalism of the interwar period is the strong point, including official activities of the royal family and the growing field of aviation.
