Egide Charles, ° 13.10.1843; + 25.3.1913. Recorded as a cabinet-maker at his wedding in Brussels - Ixelles on 29.7.1871. Manufacturer of cameras and accessories. Designer of several original cameras, which won him a considerable reputation. "A." in the directories from 1895 to 1901. Patent of 21.8.1896 for "a photographic camera" [small accessory, fixed to the camera, making it possible to obtain views of variable size]. Patent of 3.9.1898 (jointly with C. Bouckaert) for "improvements to blind shutters".
