Also Andries Huijsman in Dutch documents, ° 12.2.1831. Younger brother of Abraham and cousin of the three brothers David, Emanuel and Elkan Huisman. Husband of Marie Wolf. Consistently spelt "Huysman" in the Liège population registers. Initially recorded as a photographer at no. 16 in January 1868, André was then recorded as a photographer aged 37 when he witnessed the birth certificate of his brother Abraham Huisman - Wolf’s daughter in Liège on 8.11.1868. Subsequently recorded as a photographer at no. 12 in July 1870 and again in November 1872. Photographs on paper and ambrotypes (advertisement in December 1871). The Tarlier 1875 directory lists "Huisman" at no. 27 whereas the Faust 1875-1876 directory gives "Huisman - Wolff" at no. 16. These are the only directory listings of the period, as befits a mainly itinerant practice.

Recorded as a photographer here in December 1875 and April and December 1876. Thereafter, between April 1878 and June 1880, recorded at other addresses in Liège as a hawker ("colporteur").

Initially recorded as a hawker at no. 49 in June 1883 and then as a photographer there in September 1886 and in July 1887.

On the occasion of his daughter's wedding in Liège on 30.8.1894, André was recorded as photographer domiciled at this address. His son Moïse, who witnessed the wedding certificate, was recorded as a photographer aged 22 also domiciled in Liège.
