° 23.10.1818; + 27.8.1872. Elder brother of Emanuel and Elkan (see those names). "Huismans" in the population registry. Arrived on 9.12.1861. He had previously operated in Amsterdam and had been an itinerant photographer in Utrecht [NL] as early as 1856. Patent [D. Huisman] of 30.6.1868 for "a photographic paper for retouching portraits". Left for Rue Jean d'Outremeuse, 36 on 7.1.1872. His son Jacob (° The Hague [NL], 1845) was registered at this address as a photographer and left for Brussels, Rue Bodeghem, 21 on 5.10.1873. There is no trace of activity of the latter in the capital.
