° 24.2.1869. Arrived in Courtrai from Ghent on 10.2.1890. Opened a studio at this address in August 1892. He had a succession of apprentices or operators coming from Germany: his future brother-in-law Joseph Remmlinger (see that name); his successor in Courtrai, Georg Roesler (see that name); Paul Kaphengst (° Witten a/d Ruhr [D], 25.6.1878) from 25.9.1894 to July 1896: Jean Veit (° Augsburg [D], 2.10.1866), arriving from Wiesbaden [D] on 25.9.1897 and returning to Germany in 1898. Janssen left Courtrai for Binche in February 1902.
