Jozef Bernard, ° 23.3.1887; + 6.2.1976. While still an amateur, he erected a darkroom in his parents' house "Het Moorke" at Grand Place, 50. Founder member of the "Photo Club Lierrois" and its first president in 1911. His parents' house was completely destroyed at the outbreak of World War I. Janssens subsequently turned professional and opened a studio in Eikelstraat. Photographer in the service of the Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage (KIK-IRPA) from 1942 to 1945.
