Jacobus Frederik Herman Hendrik, ° 7.11.1857. Retoucher at this address. Already recorded as a photographer at his wedding in Amsterdam on 19.2.1879 and thereafter active as a photographer in several Dutch towns, latterly Rotterdam in 1886 and Nijmegen in 1887 before departing for Verviers. In the Antwerp population registry, his wife's successive residences are recorded as Brussels - Schaerbeek from 1885 to 1890 and Antwerp from 1890 to April 1905. Member of the photographic section of the "Cercle artistique, littéraire et scientifique d'Anvers". One photograph from around 1898 is signed "J. Kalishoek - A. Meslin Phot.", suggesting some sort of collaboration with Auguste Meslin (see that name).

Kalishoeck's wife returned to Antwerp in early March 1925. In municipal files Kalishoek's current whereabouts were given as "unknown". Her previous residences were recorded as Angleur from April 1905 to 21.12.1905 and Antwerp from 21.12.1905 to October 1914, latterly at Rue Mercator, 3. It is unclear whether these moves applied to Kalishoek himself.
