° 17.4.1856; + 28.11.1914. As a teacher at the "Athénée" (secondary school) in Liège from 1885, he considered photography as an aid to the sciences, which he taught. He amassed a personal collection of 6,000 slides. Published a series of 150 slides featuring the port of Antwerp, taken in 1890 and 1900. Author of the work "Les projections lumineuses dans l'enseignement", Antwerp, Buschmann, 1895. In 1899 he led two sessions at the ABP on stereoscopy. Illustrated talks on geographical and geological subjects. Collaboration with Gustave Marissiaux (see that name), commissioned to take a series of stereoviews on coal-mining for the Liège exhibition of 1905. Kemna offered his technical assistance, since firedamp prohibited the use of magnesium. Later, he produced many autochromes which he presented at ABP slide shows. Some of these autochromes were posthumously shown at the "Salon International d'Art Photographique" in Antwerp, 1920. As president of the Liège section of the ABP from May 1901 until 1904, Kemna organised outings.
