Successor: Bauwens Emile
Initial "P." in the directory in 1900. The studio opened in late February 1900. "For the past ten days or so, everyone has stopped in front of the luxurious window display in rue de la Chapelle where Mr Ketels, the well-known photographer, has just established his new studio.... Mr Ketels has installed new facilities enabling him to photograph at night as well as during the day, with the requisite sharpness and finish" (L'Echo d'Ostende, 6.3.1900). It is possible that Jules Ketels was initially assisted by his brother Charles at this address. Studio still listed under Ketels' name in the 1913-1914 directories.
1911 * - 1914 > Liège, Boulevard de la Sauvenière, 2
Already recorded as a photographer here when the building was offered up for sale in November 1911. Had reportedly been established here for a few months when he lowered his prices as a promotional stunt in June 1912 (La Meuse, 28.6.1912). Subsequently recorded as a photographer at this address when his wife died in April 1914 and again at the occasion of his second wedding in Liège on 22.8.1916. Still advertising here in May 1921.
