Léon Jacques Marie Corneille, ° 10.5.1858; + 14.1.1942. Banker and exchange broker. One of the first proponents of the artistic trend in Belgian photography which would lead to Pictorialism. Also see under his pseudonym Léon Noël [1]. Member of the photography section of the "Katholieke Kring" in 1891. Remained active in the interwar years. Treasurer of the Antwerp section of the ABP in 1922. The municipal archives in Antwerp possess a set of 67 views of old alleys and closes in the historic city centre, dated from 1929 to 1939.
