Jean Hubert / Joannes Hubertus, sometimes transcribed "Krynsen", ° 16.5.1854. Moved to Antwerp as a child with the rest of his family in October 1865. An elder brother, Huybrecht Leendert (° Krabbendijke [NL] 29.12.1846; + Antwerp, 4.4.1874), had moved to Bergen op Zoom [NL] in 1861 and was recorded as a photographer in Antwerp at the time of his death. Krynse was already recorded as a photographer aged 21 resident in Antwerp at his wedding there on 4.2.1875, and in Zwijndrecht (province of Antwerp) in June 1877. Arrived back in Antwerp on 15.11.1879 coming from Bergen op Zoom [NL] and was recorded living at no. 1 until 13.7.1881.
1882 - 1883 / Anvers, Rue Haute, 16
Krynse left for Rotterdam [NL] on 25.9.1882 and returned to this address on 16.10.1882. He then left Antwerp for Brussels - Saint-Josse on 26.1.1883.
1885 ca - 1890 / Malines, Rue des Tanneurs, 39²<85 ca> then 28<87-90>
Registered in Malines at Lange Schipstraat, 84 in 1885, coming from Brussels, and Befferstraat, 21 in 1890, having returned from a two month stay in Rotterdam [NL]; these were probably both private addresses not housing a studio. Returned to Antwerp from Malines on 21.11.1890, having lived there in Rue des Tanneurs 30 or 31, according to his Antwerp foreigners file. Also recorded living at no. 28 at an unspecified date, according to the Malines population registry. Krynse's peripatetic itinerary reveals no further evidence of photographic activity.
