Richard Hyacinthe Gilles, ° 3.6.1855; + 24.7.1934. Industrialist and senator. Commissioner-General of the international exhibition in Liège, 1905. Member of the ABP from 10.9.1874. Not an ABP member from 1883 to 1891 and from 1907 to December 1912. Prolific autochromist. Lamarche exhibited autochromes at the ABP's 25th annual slide show in April 1913 and at the 26th slide show in April 1914, both organised by the Liège section. "His photographs of flowers are exceedingly beautiful" (La Meuse, 26.4.1913). Still a member of the ABP in 1922.
