Michel Florentin, ° 9.6.1872. Recorded as a fairground trader without a fixed domicile at the birth of a son in Falaise [Calvados, F] in August 1897 and then as a photographer living on this street in January 1903 and at this address in July 1904. Lanny came to public attention for a domestic incident here in May 1904 when he was briefly arrested on suspicion of manslaughter. He had stabbed his five year old son with a kitchen knife in what he claimed was a tragic accident.

Recorded as a photographer living on this street in February 1905, when he performed an act of redemption by stopping an out-of-control horse in the city centre. Lanny received a second class medal for acts of courage and self-sacrifice in July 1905. "Michel Florentin - Lanny" was still registered as a photographer in Courtrai when declared bankrupt on 29.5.1909.
