Louise Félicité Julie Reynders, ° 9.9.1821; + 22.4.1874. She married Gustave Nicholas François Le Ghait or Leghait (° Brussels, 18.2.1809; + 1872), a person of independent means, in Brussels - Saint-Josse on 4.8.1840. Calotypist and first female amateur photographer in Belgium. Member of the "Société française de Photographie" from 21.11.1856; no longer a member in 1864. Views of Malines, Brussels and Antwerp after dry paper negatives. She was referred to under the name "Mme L." in contemporary reviews of the exhibitions she showed in. No further trace of photographic activity has been found. Louise Le Ghait's death certificate recorded that she died in her home in Paris [F], Rond Point des Champs Elysées, 12; it gave her place of birth as Tournai and her age as 51.
